Plot
The Icon known as Occam is introduced. He is a regular contributor the the Brenda Wilfrey show, discussing current events. He is an expert at debunking conspiracies and finding the simplest, most likely answer to explain the motivations of famous celebrities and politicians. Although he is at-times controversial, he draws huge ratings when he appears on television.
Meanwhile, the Realtre is jealous of Occam and his success. He begins an infomercial campaign to recruit new talent for his organization.
In the end, Dace Senoit is watching television late one night. Both programs are on different channels, and he's flipping back and forth, laughing at the Realtre and his hubris, and enjoying Occam's clarity.
Creators' Comments
TONY SAYS:
"Occam is based on what we here at the DailySkew call Occam's trilogy: first, there's Occam's Razor, which is, basically, the thought that the simplest explanation is the most likely one. Second, there is the question raised by Batman in Identity Crisis -- 'Who benefits?' Third, there is premise espoused by Sherlock Holmes in the Sir Arther Conan Doyle books -- eliminate the impossible, and whatever is left, however improbable, must be the answer."
Memorable Quotes
"Do you mean to tell me that thousands of officials, from world leaders to lowly workers, are determined to let people, regardless of their ethnicity or wealth status, die? And, again, these people are going to keep this conspiracy a secret? I think not. I have a simpler answer for the slow responses to hurricanes, tsunamis, and earthquakes -- incompetence." - Occam
"You, too, can can achieve anything. With my plan, anything is possible! All you have to do is FIND YOURSELF!" - Don Davidson, a.k.a. The Realtre
