Creators' Comments
DAMIAN SAYS:
"Obviously, this story pays homage to the Mission Impossible television shows that Tony and I watched. In addition to slowly introducing the methodology Soul Patrol, I took the opportunity to pay homage to some boxing history. Jimmy Santini's history seems so real, you'd think he was a real boxer.
I used an athlete's rise and fall because that is the most clear example for readers to see someone losing 'it'. Superstar athletes with so much potential and actual achievements- Doc Gooden, Mike Tyson- are ingrained in our culture. Losing 'it', as this story demonstrates, is not about losing physical skill, it's about letting the inner demons of one's personal life getting the best of oneself."
